What was the creative process behind it, from the beginning until it was finished?
This artwork was inspired by the scene in Stranger Things Season 5. The pizza glasses is a funny little detail that stuck in my head for a few days. It was mysterious and delicious in the same time. I love creating eccentric and weird characters and though that slices of pizza will definitely have to be there. In other words, pizza glasses without pizza sounded absurd already. Even this glasses became a living creature. I’m afraid of snakes but enjoy drawing them. They are mysterious and dangerous animals and they are great at communicating the metaphor I was going for.
What were your references, influences or inspirations during your creative process?
My main reference is the pizza glasses that Mike crafted for El. It shows his love and care for her even he can’t say it aloud. Sometimes are actions tell more about our feelings.
What did you enjoy the most about the process?
I like experimenting with colors and different topics. It’s similar to wearing your regular daily mask and pretending that everything is fine no matter what. Using pink color here was a detail that I feel incredibly happy about.
