My blood type,

my address,

Rules of etiquette,

The traffic code of the streets,

a date of birth,

My years of schooling,

The career they say I chose,

The periodic table and its elements,

That there is such a thing as taxes,

Virtue, sin, and redemption.

No matter how hard I try, I forget them again.

But the delight of a melody,

The charm of good poetry,

The pleasure of laughing, singing, and dancing,

Your blue eyes on an afternoon one day,

My mind remembers, day after day.
