How did this place come about and what made it different from the start?
It began as an excuse to get to know the much-coveted world of coffee, but it turned into passion and commitment. “When they tell you no and you believe it’s possible, then it’s a yes.” That’s how BC77was born: a space created to enjoy great coffee and good food. It wasn’t initially conceived as a business, because we believe that in life the best business is being good people — the rest flows naturally.

A chef who enjoys specialty coffee with everything it entails: body, aroma, and essence to achieve the perfect pairing.

What part of the day, space, or creative process do those who work here enjoy the most?
Specialty coffee, drinks, and signature cuisine — that’s what we enjoy, and of course, an atmosphere full of good vibes.

If someone is coming in for the first time, what should they not miss?
A must at the bar — and we promise it brightens any heart — is a morning pour-over made with our special BC77 beans; and a blueberry cheesecake with shaved Edam cheese… That combination is beyond delicious.

What has been an interesting challenge that has made you rethink something about the project?
We are a newly established bar in the city of Puebla, so every day represents a challenge in discovering the best version of coffee for our audience, who knows how to distinguish natural and unique flavors.

What influence, idea, or reference continues to shape the way you work today?
We believe in process, origin, and experimentation as a form of gastronomic expression — that’s what guides us in achieving that sense of enjoyment. Our proposal focuses on combining natural flavors; what Mother Earth offers us.

What place, project, or person has inspired you recently and why?
The projects that inspire us most are those in constant growth and improvement. There are countless spaces with valuable proposals and discipline that inspire us to keep growing and improving.

If your space could invite someone to collaborate for a day, who would it be and what would you do together?
If we could invite someone to collaborate, it would be our closest family, as they represent our roots and the love they have instilled in us for life, as well as a passion for working in community.

Is there an object, corner or detail of the place that has a story that few people know?
Functionality and aesthetics were what inspired us in this new spot, so every detail was designed to make preparing any food or drink an experience. We even got hands-on in the kitchen…

Si este proyecto fuera una ciudad, un libro o un disco, ¿Cuál seria y porqué?
Mexico City is, and always will be, our favorite place — a very diverse, inclusive city full of life.
