burnout city race

What camera did you use to take this photograph?
Canon Rebel 2000, 50mm ef lens, Portra 400 35mm.

How was the editing process?
I usually never edit, only crop. No reason for it, I just enjoy it raw.

“My style is quick but inspired, the music equivalent of a lo-fi bedroom pop album on Bandcamp.”

What do you remember from the day you took it?
It was my mate’s wedding day. I was there taking the ‘getting ready’ photos. We were picked up by someone who I found out was brother’s with an old homie from primary school. The whole car trip was chatting about who’s doing what, who’s locked up and who’s out. It was a real Campbelltown moment. Felt like I was seventeen again. This was his car and, yeah, on the way he was going ham, skidding and just revving the thing like you should. We were the coolest cunts on the road that day.

What feelings come to you when you look at it?
Need for speed baby.

What do you like most about this photograph and why?
An undeniable energy you get from south-west Sydney and its culture.

What were your references, influences or inspirations during your creative process?
On this occasion nothing, just loving what I was seeing.

What did you enjoy the most about the process?
Forgetting about all the photos I take cause it’s on film. Getting them processed and mostly being surprised good and bad.

In what format and where would you like to see it exhibited?
Printed on canvas in every motel lobby ever.
