That summer we worked side by side, slowly learning each other’s names, our stories, and the quiet ways our souls seemed to understand one another, even if our bodies never crossed that line. Time passed and life moved on, and I began dating someone else, someone kind, sweet, and good to me in every way, but somehow it was never the same. Because even now, I still find myself missing you, remembering the way you rode by with that dark helmet and the tattoos on your hands, small details that stayed with me long after that summer was gone.
