What habit has been sustaining you lately?
Lately, exercise has been helping me stay in shape not only physically but mentally as well. The routine around training creates a sense of at least some stability amid the chaos of life.
What time of day do you feel most like yourself?
Morning immediately comes to mind: the first cup of coffee and the entire day still ahead of me.
When recently did you feel out of place?
Probably my whole life. It’s hard to feel like you belong when you’re constantly changing cities, apartments, jobs, and circles of people. Over time, you just stop paying so much attention to it and find other constants that don’t depend on where you are — my husband, my cat, my camera.
What are you still holding onto even though you know you’ll eventually have to let go?
Sooner or later, we have to let everything go, and the sooner we come to terms with it, the easier it becomes.
What scares you more today: change or staying the same? Why?
Change is an inseparable part of life. What matters most is not losing yourself or compromising your values. If I were afraid of change, I likely wouldn’t be where I am now.
Tell us about a recent experience that made you change your mind or stop believing in something.
Justice. I no longer believe in it.
Recommend a movie, an album, and a book and tell us why you liked each one.
A movie: Palm Springs (2020) — it makes you think, though it’s hard to say exactly about what.
An album: Модель from Okean Elzy— the most important album from my childhood.
A book: Solaris by Stanislaw Lem — it resonates with something in me every time.
What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?
If you’re in Warsaw, I recommend stopping by the spot Rybka Frytka i Żużelek and trying one of their fried fish sets. I can’t wait for spring to sit at one of their outdoor tables, admiring the iconic Brzeska Street.
Which friend have you admired lately, and why?
The friend I admire most — and have for nearly 13 years — is my husband, but he’s not on social media.
