What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?
Lately, I haven’t been working on any specific project. I’ve been occupied with various personal matters, but that space has allowed me to reconnect with my desire to create without pressure.

What did you learn (or unlearn) during this process?
I learned that showing up without expectations and without a rigid plan can bring out the best version of me creatively. Sometimes, the most authentic things arise when I simply let the moment guide me.

What words, ideas or emotions were going through your head?
When I enter my creative flow, I focus on being present. I feel a lot of gratitude for being able to enjoy that instant when everything aligns, and I’m just taking photos out of passion.

Were there any conversations, movies, music, or books that made their way into that work?
I’m a big fan of films shot on actual film. I love when my photos feel like they were taken on a cinematic set, and I’m also drawn to them having an artistic touch, almost as if they were drawings.

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?
Finding the motivation to go out and take photos. But once I’m outside, creativity flows naturally, and I have no problems at all.

What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?
Right now, my favorites are some tacos called Los Capri in Plaza Tribeca (Vasconcelos). I recommend the campechana and the fries with chile piquín. They’re a solid 10/10.

If your life were a movie this month, what would it be called and who would write the soundtrack?
The film would be called Growing Up, and without a doubt, Hans Zimmer would compose soundtrack.

Recommend some artists you follow who inspire you. What do you like about their work?
I’m inspired by artists who convey real emotions and transport you into their world. For a few seconds, you forget your own reality and enter theirs.
My favorite artists right now are Grainy Days and Teo Crawford. I love how they turn simple moments into something that feels deep, intimate, and cinematic.

I’m Marcos, from Monterrey, Mexico. Besides being a doctor, I have many hobbies: photography, golf, and going to the gym. I enjoy capturing moments that feel honest and nostalgic.
