Exploring In Solitude

What habit has been sustaining you lately?
Probably rock climbing, outdoor bouldering to be specific. Mainly having two or three climbing sessions with friends has strengthened the friendships immensely and also as a de-stresser for daily life being outdoors with mates with fresh air.

What time of day do you feel most like yourself?
After midnight to early morning! I do a lot of night time photography around the city and in nature photographing the stars and nightlife. Those late hours resonate with me as it's so quiet and calm, which draws to me being a an introvert and spending a lot of time in solitude exploring life and its experiences.

When recently did you feel out of place?
A recent photowalk linkup with other photographers, in a busier part of town that I don't usually visit. I think because it isn't me, as I'm someone drawn to nature and quieter spaces. So it feels out of character or place. But the photowalks I will still go to and succumb to that feeling as it's where I link up with like minded friends with a shared love and friendship for photography.

What are you still holding onto even though you know you’ll eventually have to let go?
Comfort! I know some of the steps I need to take to move into a new space with my photography, but those feel daunting or out of the comfort zone. But in life we have to find a balance of living amongst the green, yellow and red comfort zones. Growth cannot happen if we only stay in the green safe zone, and conversely we burn out if too much time is spent in the red zone. So a balance needs to be found.

Recommend a movie, an album, and a book.
Movie: Treasure Planet , the greatest animation ever and a storyline that expands deep with a lot to take from it.

Album: Better Word (Live) from Leeland, mainly "Way Maker", as it was the song playing when I got baptized. It's become a grounding song that calms the seas of chaos within when played, as it brings me back to that moment and love for Jesus.

Book: Tiger Wars . I'm not a big reader to be honest. This is one that I love though since a younger age.

What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?
I don't really have a favourite restaurant as I don't eat out often. But if I do order something it's either a pizza, or fish and chips if in somewhere coastal.

¿Qué amigo has admirado últimamente y por qué?
My best mate of 12 years, Craig. We stay far away now, so he recently visited for 3 days where we could catch up and create more memories to an already full list of memories over the last 12 years. Time spent with friends is always time well spent.
