First step,
fall in love with the one who has storms instead of eyes
and thunder in the veins.
There will be lightning in every caress
and a hurricane will be unleashed in your rib cage
when I say you are a work of art.
Second step,
stand back, helplessly watching from miles away
while falling in love with someone
who is not you,
you will see his face break into an electric smile
and you will hear the rays of sunshine dripping from his words
but they will not be for you.
Third step,
your chest will compensate to crack
with every casual mention of his name,
will splinter your bones
and it will juggle in your head.
Fourth step,
every ounce of your body will be telling you to run
but you will ignore the warnings,
guided by blind hope.
You will run after him until you are exhausted.
and empty,
you will collapse and crumble,
but you will pick up your pieces and bloom
over and over again,
and before you know it,
you are overflowing with love,
that does not come from him but from yourself.
