Creative processes
"If it is absolutely necessary for art or theater to serve any purpose, it will be to teach people that there are activities that are useless and that it is essential that they exist."
–Eugène Ionesco

A month to remember
Documenting my travels on film connects me in a different way: it feels like meditating in motion. Each shot forces me to pause, to truly observe, and to make conscious decisions. And when I finally receive the photos, it's like opening a gift: moments that feel even more precious because they weren't immediate.

Backlighting
The feeling that everything is slipping away, that we're here today and we don't know about tomorrow. That idea haunts me, but instead of paralyzing me, it drives me to capture. I photograph so that the moment doesn't completely escape me, to remind myself that every second has meaning, even if I don't yet understand it.

Take away yesterday's skin
I learned the value of spontaneity in my creative process. This project wasn't planned; I coordinated the session at the last minute, and it came together in just forty minutes. A meticulous plan isn't necessary to create something meaningful.
Writing
"Too often we write one sentence too soon and then another one too late; what we have to do is write it at the right time, otherwise it gets lost."
–Thomas Bernhard

It was Sunday
When I get home, I think about the object I chose for my enjoyment, even though the battery has been dead for a while; I haven't even used it for three days since I bought it. Sexuality and self-exploration are rituals I don't want to let fall into decline.

Domesticated chance
There are also coaches out there selling spells to manifest abundance and make healthy financial decisions while you do sit-ups. However, behind that choreographed display of control, chance, with its ever-present smile, is waiting for you to slip up so it can turn your life upside down.

COMPAÑ-IA
Scientists estimate that the end of the world will occur in about six to eight billion years, but by then humanity will have been extinct for about two to three billion years.

“I'm always so amazed when people talk about a definitive edition! How can an author not regret an awkward point or an adjective? It's absurd.”
–Jorge Luis Borges

For the coffee lovers No. 1
People ask me to predict the future, when all I want to do is prevent it. Better yet, build it.
-

Come together
As long as we insist on a mechanistic and individualistic view of the world, we will continue to die. The idea of the self has dominated the world for five centuries; it's time to take another path.

Sombras huérfanas
A procession of stories in which one can only applaud or yawn at the decline and slow decay of the human soul in a hostile environment.
Urban guide
“A city is like an animal. It has a nervous system, a head, shoulders, and feet. Every city is different from every other: no two are alike. And a city has collective emotions.”
–John Steinbeck

Trama publicaciones y café
We're designers by profession, and we design basically everything for Trama, from the mugs to the bookcases, so some things fell by the wayside over time. But they're already in progress; we like the idea of Trama as a place of constant change.

Amaría Bakery
What we enjoy most is creating seasonal menus. Each season, we add extra drinks and desserts to the classics we already sell. And finding processes that make them more natural and authentic is truly a challenge for us.

Mandrake Café
Interestingly, in Mexico, doctors adopted the name as a verb: "mandreakear," which means to disappear for a moment to take a break. For us, Mandrake represents that small, everyday magic: creating moments of pause and surprise that make every cup of coffee special.
