What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?
<\/strong>I\u2019m currently working on a series titled \u201cLovers\u201d and a cycle of drawings called \u201cNever-Ending Stories\u201d. Both are ongoing projects that explore human relationships\u2014between lovers and close friends who share their secrets with one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What did you learn (or unlearn) while working on them?
<\/strong>Every time, I realize that the creative process is endless\u2014you can never get enough of it, and the possibilities for expressing an idea are limitless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What words, ideas or emotions were going through your head?
<\/strong>Time, fragility, dreaminess, detachment, euphoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Were there any conversations, movies, music, or books that made their way into that work?
<\/strong>The canvas \u201cSmall Lovers\u201d was inspired by Pier Paolo Pasolini\u2019s film \u201cDecameron\u201d, and \u201cThat Should Stay Between Us\u201d comes from a phrase I heard during a conversation just before creating the work. I think music also finds its way into my works. When I draw I often listen to classics and French chanson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?
<\/strong>I never seem to have enough time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite coffee shop and why do you like going there?
<\/strong>It\u2019s actually my kitchen. I\u2019m a big coffee lover and enjoy the whole process\u2014from grinding the beans to brewing them directly in my favorite mug. It\u2019s the first and the most important ritual of my day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your life were a movie this month, what would it be called and who would write the soundtrack?
<\/strong>I would borrow the title from my recent painting \u201cCherry Blossom Time\u201d, and the soundtrack would be something by Chopin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Which studios, laboratories, or workshops have you collaborated with recently or would you like to collaborate with in the future?
<\/strong>I collaborate with educational institutions and am generally open to new interesting partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommend one or more artists you follow who inspire you, and tell us what you like most about their work or their way of working.
<\/strong>There are so many interesting artists out there that naming specific ones would inevitably mean excluding others. I usually discover new artworks through curated platforms, galleries, and art magazines\u2014like yours.\n\nWhen it comes to inspiration, my approach is more fragmentary: I\u2019m drawn to particular elements across different artworks\u2014one artist\u2019s colour palette, another\u2019s brushwork, a third\u2019s sense of form, a fourth\u2019s scale, and so on.\n\nWhen I need a fresh burst of energy, I turn to the classics.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
