What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?
<\/strong>I spent the winter in Mexico City, and from there I drew inspiration for a series of images based on the traffic of this city. I\u2019m very interested in the contrast between speed, solid concrete, and natural forms\u2014how these three layers coexist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What did you learn (or unlearn) while working on them?
<\/strong>I\u2019m learning a new language for my illustrations\u2014something more dynamic and less controlled. I\u2019m also learning to do things in a more spontaneous way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What words, ideas or emotions were going through your head?
<\/strong>Speed, parking, contrast, but also a certain sense of humor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Were there any conversations, movies, music, or books that made their way into that work?
<\/strong>There\u2019s a scene in the film Week-end<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by Jean-Luc Godard that reminds me of what I\u2019m trying to explore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?
<\/strong>Finding time for personal projects within commercial commissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?
El Canton Mexicali<\/a><\/strong> \u2014order the cucumber salad. It\u2019s delicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your life were a movie this month, what would it be called and who would write the soundtrack?
<\/strong>I think it would be a comedy. I find it hard to come up with a title, but the soundtrack would be something like the intro to El Chavo del 8<\/em> from Jean-Jacques Perrey<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which studios, laboratories, or workshops have you collaborated with recently or would you like to collaborate with in the future?
<\/strong>I made a calendar with Ediciones Magma<\/a><\/strong> in France. They\u2019re a publishing house that mostly works with risography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommend one or more artists you follow who inspire you, and tell us what you like most about their work or their way of working.
