What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?<\/strong><\/strong>
I haven\u2019t been working on many projects lately. Last year I took a bit of a \u201cbreak\u201d from photography due to personal circumstances. My trip to Japan last year was the last time I was properly out shooting photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What did you learn (or unlearn) while working on them?<\/strong>
What I learned from my small hiatus is that you have to keep shooting as often as you can to stay inspired. If you keep practicing photography, you\u2019ll be able to get out of the rut and find inspiration and motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What words, ideas or emotions were going through your head?<\/strong>
One of my main goals for this year is to go out and shoot more photographs. It doesn\u2019t matter if they\u2019re good or bad, as long as I\u2019m outside and practicing. This discipline will help me become a better photographer by constantly observing light, which allows me to understand it better and to practice different compositions for stronger storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Were there any conversations, movies, music, or books that made their way into that work?<\/strong>
I\u2019ve been listening to many different photographers who have gone through similar experiences, and I\u2019ve learned from them. This was the first step that helped me just get up and shoot, and also to stop waiting for the perfect moment, because it doesn\u2019t exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?<\/strong>
Finding the time to go out and shoot, as I work as a Registered Nurse full-time. Shift work makes it hard to stay consistent, and it has been a challenge to fit this hobby into my lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?<\/strong>
Right now, it\u2019s Guzm\u00e1n y G\u00f3mez<\/a><\/strong>, and I would have their breakfast burrito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your life were a movie this month, what would it be called and who would write the soundtrack?<\/strong>
The title would be The Return<\/em> , and the soundtrack would be made by Tyler, the Creator<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which studios, laboratories, or workshops have you collaborated with recently or would you like to collaborate with in the future?<\/strong>
I have never collaborated with anyone before, but I would certainly love to in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommend one or more artists you follow who inspire you, and tell us what you like most about their work or their way of working.<\/strong>
The photographers who inspire me the most right now are Henri Cartier-Bresson<\/a><\/strong>, Daniel Arnold<\/a><\/strong>, Trevor Wisecup<\/a><\/strong>, Andrew Wagner<\/a><\/strong>, Paulie B<\/a><\/strong> and Nazir Wayman<\/a><\/strong>. They are all street photographers who take risks and demonstrate great storytelling.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
