What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?<\/strong>
On the series Memory of the Everyday<\/em>. Since I was 18, I found in photography a means of expression\u2014a language that has led me to explore the world in different ways, until one of those paths transformed into a photographic series with an apparently simple, yet deeply complex purpose: to build a record, a memory of the everyday and of what I observe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I aim to create a personal archive that allows me to show\u2014and show myself\u2014a vast and diverse Mexico, through spontaneous stories that emerge from the simplest moments of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What did you learn (or unlearn) while working on them?<\/strong>
Without a doubt, what I continue to learn is not to look at people as symbolic objects, but to approach them with greater sensitivity, striving to tell more human, honest, and respectful stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have also begun to understand that there are images that sometimes do not need to be captured; there are moments that deserve to remain only in memory. I\u2019ve even come to believe that, over time, I have accumulated more mental photographs than digital or analog ones. In that process, I have slowly learned to inhabit the moment\u2014to live it before trying to preserve it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What words, ideas or emotions were going through your head?<\/strong>
\u201cTime, life, and imaginaries.\u201d In truth, I am constantly in dialogue with myself, reflecting on the relativity of time and on a life that often moves so quickly that we fail to notice what surrounds us. We forget to look calmly, to pause, and to discover the many imaginaries that live within each person out there, in every hidden story waiting to be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Were there any conversations, movies, music, or books that made their way into that work?<\/strong>
I couldn\u2019t name just one in particular, but I enjoy watching Mexican documentaries to get closer to the different imaginaries that exist in our country. I believe that perspective has made me more sensitive to my surroundings and more aware of what I choose to document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?<\/strong>
Continuing to create while feeling stuck as a photographer; trying to meet expectations while going against trends and what goes viral; and forgetting to tell stories and express through them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?<\/strong>
If you ever find yourselves in Puebla, I invite you to watch lucha libre at the Arena Puebla<\/a><\/strong> and, while you\u2019re there, enjoy a cemita from the stands outside\u2014I promise you can\u2019t go wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
