What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?
<\/strong>I recently took a trip to Argentina between the months of December and January to meet my family for the first time. I shot the whole trip, which I\u2019m currently planning on expanding into a project. Before I left, I had been working on projects with some incredible Sydney and Melbourne artists and collectives: The House of Furia<\/a><\/strong>, L-FRESH The Lion<\/a><\/strong>, Julai<\/a><\/strong>, VV Pete<\/a><\/strong>, Inbraza<\/a><\/strong>, Pa777ience<\/a><\/strong> , and a commission with the Powerhouse Museum Ultimo<\/a><\/strong> that is dropping this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What did you learn (or unlearn) while working on them?<\/strong>
Last year I was really turbo with all the work I had been doing. It was go, go, go. Something I really want to apply in my work this year after going to Argentina is slowing down and taking my time as much as I can. I understand this industry is fast-paced. However, I know I\u2019ll feel so much more fulfilment if I can take a little more time on projects that really make me happy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What words, ideas or emotions were going through your head?<\/strong>
For the most part, the only word that was in my head was \u201cGO,\u201d and I had so much adrenaline and motivation. I really wanted to create a strong foundation for myself and continue to build on the work I had created in the last five or so years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Were there any conversations, movies, music, or books that made their way into that work?
<\/strong>I was drawing most of my inspiration from life and the ideas of those I was working with. Music is always an integral part of my practice, as I am also a DJ. I think whatever I\u2019m listening to at the time always influences the direction or mood my work follows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?<\/strong>
Since visiting Argentina, I feel like letting go of the process I once knew was difficult but also really was called for. I feel like I\u2019m evolving into the next version of myself, which will also reflect in my work. Slowing down has been the biggest shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?
Canterbury Kebabs<\/a><\/strong> is probably my number one at the moment. A chicken burger with the lot, chips, and a soda water is my go-to. They\u2019re open until, I\u2019d say, 3 a.m. Tap in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your life were a movie this month, what would it be called and who would write the soundtrack?<\/strong>
The title would be Chew City<\/em> , and the artist would be Tru Saali<\/a><\/strong>, one of my greatest friends, who is an incredible artist and producer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommend one or more artists you follow who inspire you, and tell us what you like most about their work or their way of working.
<\/strong>I love everything that Guicho<\/a><\/strong> and Unkle Luc<\/a><\/strong>do. Both are incredibly talented artists, aesthetically and conceptually. My great friend Linhchi<\/a><\/strong> inspires me so much \u2014 I work really closely with them. I love their eye and attention to detail. And Luara Brand\u00e3o<\/a><\/strong>, a friend of mine and the founder of Inbraza<\/a><\/strong>, created the first Baile Funk platform in Australia. We also work really closely on the visuals of Inbraza Baile. It\u2019s really nice to be able to work closely with community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
