How did this place come about and what made it different from the start?
Nomad<\/a><\/strong> was born out of a conversation in a coffee shop. What made it different from the beginning was offering the most human and transparent service possible to our customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What part of the day, space, or creative process do those who work here enjoy the most?
<\/strong>We really enjoy calibrating the espresso and that moment when we realize that, day by day, our espressos keep getting better. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If someone is coming in for the first time, what should they not miss?
<\/strong>I think they shouldn\u2019t miss our specialty coffee and the desserts from Ciao, Canela<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 they\u2019re unmissable, especially the tiramisu brownie. And of course, our matcha blends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been an interesting challenge that has made you rethink something about the project?
<\/strong>I think simply staying and pushing through the bad days, and asking ourselves whether we\u2019re doing the right thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What influence, idea, or reference continues to shape the way you work today?
<\/strong>We\u2019re strongly influenced by places that break the mold and refuse to fit into what a coffee shop is supposed to be \u2014 whether in terms of music, drinks, or concept.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What place, project, or person has inspired you recently and why?
<\/strong>When it comes to coffee, Subversivo <\/a><\/strong>motivates us a lot. The best espressos are made there, and they also roast the green coffee we buy from different parts of Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

If your space could invite someone to collaborate for a day, who would it be and what would you do together?
<\/strong>I\u2019d invite Mario Osorio from Caf\u00e9 Cultura<\/a><\/strong> or Carlos de la Torre<\/a><\/strong> from Avellaneda<\/a><\/strong>\u2014 both major references in Mexican coffee. It\u2019s simple\u2026 we\u2019d make coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is there an object, corner or detail of the place that has a story that few people know?
<\/strong>I think every vase, illustration, and object that makes Nomad feel more welcoming has a story. Or the story of the espresso machine: years ago, I used to go to a caf\u00e9 and loved their coffee \u2014 it had something special. I\u2019m talking about Genesis Cholula, which no longer exists. Years later, the owner sold me the machine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If this project were a city, a book, or a record, which would it be and why?
<\/strong>It would be a very diverse playlist. With hip hop, cumbia, pop, and indie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
