What habit has been sustaining you lately?
<\/strong>Lately, keeping a journal has helped me a lot. I don\u2019t write every day, but I return to it often. Sometimes they\u2019re loose ideas; other times I pair my emotions with photographs. It\u2019s a way of feeling my life is in order, of keeping a record, and of staying creative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What time of day do you feel most like yourself?
<\/strong>Usually in the late afternoons and evenings, when I finish the most urgent tasks and can slow down the pace of the day. It\u2019s the moment when I can devote more time to photography, exercise, or simply be with myself without feeling like I owe anything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When recently did you feel out of place?
<\/strong>Most recently, in some work meetings. I\u2019m there, but sometimes I feel like I\u2019m participating from a different rhythm; it\u2019s not discomfort, but it feels like thinking from somewhere else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are you still holding onto even though you know you\u2019ll eventually have to let go?
<\/strong>Career expectations in my professional field. Sometimes I feel that as an engineer I should be doing more or be at a different point, although I\u2019m increasingly clear that it doesn\u2019t necessarily have to be my only path. Besides, in photography there\u2019s still a lot to explore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What scares you more today: change or staying the same?
<\/strong>Staying in the same place. I\u2019m afraid of not moving out of comfort or fear, and realizing I let experiences pass by because I didn\u2019t dare to try.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommend a movie, an album, and a book and tell us why you liked each one.
G\u00fceros<\/em> (2014)<\/a><\/strong>It always brings me back a very specific nostalgia for Mexico City.

Fontana Bella<\/em> from Austin TV<\/a><\/strong>It arrived in my adolescence and has grown with me; each time I listen to it, I hear it from a different place.

As for books, I\u2019m in a searching phase, still trying to find one that accompanies me in a special way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?
<\/strong>If I could only eat in one place, it would be Friky’s Cocina Salvaje<\/a><\/strong>. For me, it has the best burger in Le\u00f3n, Guanajuato. The atmosphere and the service: incredible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which friend have you admired lately, and why?
Itzel Figueroa<\/a><\/strong>. For how she combines the sensitivity of her writing with photography; her way of seeing and narrating feels beautiful and very honest to me. Recommending her latest fanzine: July 24, 2023<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mario Cruz<\/a><\/strong>. For the way he understands and constructs visual narratives using very creative media; always admiring him as a teacher and as a friend. Recommended exhibition: Artificial Memory<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
