What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?<\/strong>
My biggest project will always be continuing to take photographs, no matter what. The most recent photos I took were during my trip to Europe; I haven\u2019t developed them yet, so I don\u2019t know anything about them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What did you learn (or unlearn) while working on them?<\/strong>
That sometimes we\u2019re so absorbed in our own world that we fail to notice things \u2014people, moments, lights, and shadows\u2014 that slip out of view and never get captured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What words, ideas or emotions were going through your head?<\/strong>
Words like searching, identity, and transformation keep circling in my mind.
I carry many intertwined emotions: nostalgia, love, loss, and that need to find beauty even in what hurts. I also reflect on who I am and what I want to express through my photographs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Were there any conversations, movies, music, or books that made their way into that work?<\/strong>
Conversations with my mother, my grandparents, my partner, teachers, and friends. Some remain stored in memory, others are still very present.
As for films, there are several, but one of the main ones is a Japanese movie called Kimi wo Aishiteru Kimi wo aishiteru<\/em> or Heavenly Forest<\/strong><\/a>). It left a deep mark on both my mind and my heart. There\u2019s another one that feels like its opposite, Civil War<\/a><\/strong>. I had the chance to watch it, and it represents the other \u201cside of the coin\u201d in photography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?<\/strong>
Depression.
At times, I stop taking photographs because I \u201cfeel sad\u201d or \u201cunwell,\u201d and I end up setting everything aside. Fighting against myself and that version of me has been one of the hardest things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?<\/strong>
Yamasan Ramen House<\/a><\/strong>, you have to try the Boshu Kakuni Ramen.
And if you\u2019re not into Asian food and prefer something like baked potatoes, tacos, or meat, you can visit Nan2 Tacos<\/a><\/strong>; their baked potatoes are delicious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

If your life were a movie this month, what would it be called and who would write the soundtrack?<\/strong>
It would be called Analog memory<\/em>y. And Julieta Venegas would use her song \u201cPresent\u201d <\/a><\/strong>for the movie trailer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
