What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?<\/strong>
Lately, I\u2019ve been focused on a project documenting life in the Roma and Condesa neighborhoods, where I was born and raised. I have a deep affection for these places and a constant fascination with photographing them whenever I can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What did you learn (or unlearn) while working on them?<\/strong>
I\u2019ve learned to be patient with the creative process. Even though a photograph may seem instantaneous, behind it there is an endless accumulation of emotions, decisions, and time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m also beginning to understand that going out with a camera is not always as easy as it seems. Being photographed in the street can feel invasive for some people, and it takes inspiration and confidence to step outside and do it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What words, ideas or emotions were going through your head?<\/strong>
Boredom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a state that has been affecting me a lot lately. I feel bored even when I know I have things to do. When I try to do them, I end up absorbed by the screen, where the reward comes in dopamine hits from scrolling, in a place where fifteen minutes turn into two hours in the real world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes I get bored of where I am, but when I change locations, I end up doing exactly the same thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Were there any conversations, movies, music, or books that made their way into that work?<\/strong>
More than a conversation, it was realizing how little these areas of Mexico City have been documented in street photography. There are works, yes, but noticeably fewer than in other parts of the world.

And even if mine isn\u2019t the best, I want to contribute my part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?<\/strong>
Finding the will to go out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are days when I have the time and the opportunity to go out with the sole purpose of photographing, but I simply don\u2019t. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s exhaustion, lack of motivation, insecurity, or all of it combined. Sometimes photography starts to feel more like an obligation than an impulse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if I\u2019m not being paid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you could have dinner at any restaurant in the city tonight, where would it be and what would you order?<\/strong>
Anywhere that serves pizza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know it\u2019s very clich\u00e9 for pizza to be someone\u2019s favorite food, but it\u2019s simply one of the best things humanity has ever created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommend us an artist you follow who inspires you, and tell us what you like most about their work or their way of working.<\/strong>
I\u2019m fascinated by the work of Trevor Wisecup<\/a><\/strong> and Paulie B<\/strong> <\/a>for the way they portray everyday life in New York City. Their approach feels very natural, showing life in a city like this, where there is always something interesting to photograph or simply something to enjoy.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
