What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?<\/strong>
The latest personal project I\u2019ve been working on is an analog photography zine called 123xfilm<\/em>, referencing the childhood chant \u201cun, dos, tres por m\u00ed\u201d from the game of hide-and-seek. It\u2019s essentially a compilation of photos I don\u2019t always share digitally; in other words, \u201chidden\u201d snapshots from my daily documentation that come to light for the public in printed form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

What did you learn (or unlearn) while working on them?<\/strong>
I\u2019m always learning to share without expecting a reaction, such as a like. I also relearn that printed photos look different: in a way, they can be felt and even smelled on paper. Something I enjoy about making the zine is creating diptychs between images, and I learned that a diptych can be anything I want to tell with two photos joined by a staple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What words, ideas or emotions were going through your head?<\/strong>
The word memory<\/em>, because every time I take a photo it\u2019s to remember or preserve a moment. Memory will always be a powerful tool against forgetting, and since it\u2019s possible to forget, we have images to keep memory alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Were there any conversations, movies, music, or books that made their way into that work?<\/strong>
Definitely music. At the end of the zine, I included a line from a song by Sen <\/a>Senra<\/a><\/strong>: \u201cLittle and quality, we\u2019re not gluttons, and I remembered that a little done well is worth millions.\u201d As a detail, to cite the song \u201cNo quiero ser un cantante<\/a><\/strong>\u201d and I crossed out the last word and wrote photographer<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?<\/strong>
The hardest thing has been giving my personal projects the time they deserve and allowing exploration to flow without rush.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is your favorite restaurant and what do you recommend we order?<\/strong>
Right now I\u2019m fascinated by a place called Suleyma<\/a><\/strong>, which serves Lebanese food. I especially recommend the Man’Ushe Faruk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your life were a movie this month, what would it be called and who would write the soundtrack?<\/strong>
This month is my birthday, so it could be called Noise in memory<\/em>, with the soundtrack by Junior H<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recommend one or more artists you follow who inspire you, and tell us what you like most about their work or their way of working.<\/strong>
Without a doubt, my sister Evelyn Verd\u00edn<\/a><\/strong>. I\u2019m inspired by her ability to do different things and do them really well: photography, drawing, ceramics.
