{"id":197405,"date":"2026-01-11T07:46:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-11T13:46:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/errr-magazine.com\/?p=197405"},"modified":"2026-01-11T07:46:12","modified_gmt":"2026-01-11T13:46:12","slug":"girls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/errr-magazine.com\/english\/girls\/","title":{"rendered":"GIRLS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Coincidences exist, and this text is one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A few weeks ago, I went to the place I always go to buy CDs, and by a twist of fate, I found <em>Album<\/em>, the first record by the now-defunct band <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/6eO95BjZhrWHREMfwC4vVN?si=I7OQ5_IORcOGTMVNC03Dpw\">Girls<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Back in the day, I was a big fan of Girls; I had their only two albums in digital format (illegally, of course): the one I just mentioned and <em>Father, Son, Holy Ghost<\/em>, which in my opinion is an underrated masterpiece, full of melancholy and great hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was obvious that I\u2019d take the record home (and a few others) to listen to it, but luckily I had my Discman with me. I didn\u2019t take long to open it (it was sealed, though not brand new); I put it in the player, turned the volume to six, and the magic started all over again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Album<\/em> is a raw record, where Christopher Owens\u2019 voice intertwines with his acoustic and electric guitars, while also highlighting his somewhat poetic and psychedelic lyrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was lucky enough to see them live once, I think at Sal\u00f3n 21.
