What pieces or projects have you been working on lately?<\/strong>
He estado expandiendo mi serie documental en curso No Te Dejes<\/em>, un proyecto visual que muestra los valores y el mundo de la cultura box\u00edstica mexicana: fe, resiliencia y comunidad. He seguido explorando las posibilidades de c\u00f3mo mostrar su esencia de la manera m\u00e1s aut\u00e9ntica. Lo que comenz\u00f3 como una serie fotogr\u00e1fica ha evolucionado hacia video, instalaciones art\u00edsticas y exposiciones que honran lo especial de esta comunidad y de la identidad mexicana\u2026 y pronto tambi\u00e9n en una marca de ropa. \u00daltimamente he estado trabajando en los planes de dise\u00f1o, marketing y estrategia. Estoy muy emocionado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aprend\u00ed lo especial y \u00fanica que es esta comunidad. Me ha dado m\u00e1s de lo que pod\u00eda imaginar, y se ha convertido en mi prop\u00f3sito art\u00edstico retribuir y mostrarla de la manera m\u00e1s aut\u00e9ntica posible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comenc\u00e9 este camino con la misi\u00f3n de aprender m\u00e1s sobre mi identidad mexicana a trav\u00e9s del boxeo, un deporte y estilo de pelea reconocido en todo el mundo. M\u00e9xico ha producido m\u00e1s campeones que cualquier otro pa\u00eds. Pero, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9? \u00bfQu\u00e9 hace especial ser boxeador mexicano? \u00bfQu\u00e9 puede ense\u00f1arme el estilo de pelea mexicano sobre la identidad y el esp\u00edritu de nuestro pa\u00eds?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revis\u00e9 todos los fotolibros y pel\u00edculas de boxeo que pude encontrar, especialmente en blanco y negro. Estudi\u00e9 a grandes del deporte y la fotograf\u00eda documental como Neil Leifer<\/a><\/strong> and H\u00e9ctor Garc\u00eda<\/a><\/strong>, quienes me han guiado mientras busco evolucionar mi propio enfoque. Dos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, descubr\u00ed Raging Bull<\/a><\/em> from Martin Scorsese<\/strong><\/a>, que fue una gran inspiraci\u00f3n para mi trabajo en video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's been the most difficult thing you've faced recently in your creative process?<\/strong>
La edici\u00f3n. Despu\u00e9s de cuatro a\u00f1os documentando esta comunidad, he reunido miles de im\u00e1genes y much\u00edsimas horas de video. El reto ha sido darle forma para que tenga un prop\u00f3sito art\u00edstico y una voz propia. Trabajar con mis mentores me ha ayudado a profundizar en mi \u201cpor qu\u00e9\u201d: por qu\u00e9 hago esto y qu\u00e9 quiero transmitir con mi voz \u00fanica. Encontrar la narrativa, decidir qu\u00e9 mostrar y c\u00f3mo acompa\u00f1arlo con palabras ha sido lo m\u00e1s dif\u00edcil, pero tambi\u00e9n lo m\u00e1s gratificante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No Te Dejes<\/em>. Mi vida ha sido un ciclo de subidas y bajadas: cosas que salen bien y otras no tanto, pero est\u00e1 bien. No Te Dejes<\/em> representa mi lucha constante por mejorar y seguir adelante sin importar la situaci\u00f3n. El soundtrack mezclar\u00eda cl\u00e1sicos norte\u00f1os con la obra de uno de los grandes compositores de Am\u00e9rica Latina, Edgar Barrera<\/a><\/strong>, fusionando garra con alma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aunque todav\u00eda no los conozco en persona, su trabajo me inspira a seguir empujando y mejorando mi oficio.
