Tell us a little about yourself and how you got started in photography. What inspired you to start taking pictures?<\/strong>
Comenc\u00e9 haciendo fotos en la universidad con una c\u00e1mara Cyber Shot que me regal\u00f3 mi mam\u00e1. En ese entonces, me contaba cuando ella estudi\u00f3 el curso de foto en la escuela de periodismo Carlos Septi\u00e9n y a m\u00ed me daba mucha curiosidad ver y aprender el proceso de c\u00f3mo se pod\u00edan plasmar im\u00e1genes en la pel\u00edcula de acetato, as\u00ed empec\u00e9 comprando muchos libros sobre foto an\u00e1loga, c\u00e1maras y rollos viejos que encontraba en los tianguis y haciendo fotos de fiestas y amigues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone has a unique style, can you describe how you would define your style and what visual or conceptual elements characterize it?<\/strong>
Dir\u00eda que m\u00e1s que un estilo, mi trabajo explora el pasado, la nostalgia y mi percepci\u00f3n del espacio y el tiempo. Me gusta mucho experimentar con distintos formatos. A veces registro una misma escena o secuencia en varios respaldos (35mm, pinhole, super 8, pel\u00edcula de 120), y despu\u00e9s poco a poco voy juntando y comunicando las im\u00e1genes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography has the power to tell stories and convey emotions. Can you share an experience where one of your photographs has had a significant impact on people or yourself?<\/strong>
En mi proyecto Circus, estoy tomando fotos de las carpas circenses que hay en el Estado de M\u00e9xico, mi inter\u00e9s es mostrar ese mundo itinerante, su atemporalidad, y la b\u00fasqueda permanente de lo que pueda ser novedoso para el p\u00fablico.

En 2022 expuse junto con otras fotos algunas piezas de este proyecto en la galer\u00eda Anomal\u00eda, y me pareci\u00f3 muy peculiar que mucha gente se acerc\u00f3 a m\u00ed para preguntarme en d\u00f3nde estaba haciendo las fotos, cu\u00e1l era mi relaci\u00f3n con los circos y si eran fotos de archivo o actuales, tambi\u00e9n me mandaron fotos de otros circos en el mundo.

Me gusta pensar que cuando la gente ve mis fotos les recuerda algo o alguien y se llevan esa memoria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been your most challenging photography project to date and why?<\/strong>
Hace poco hice la foto fija de un comercial en an\u00e1logo y digital, fue un gran reto poder estar en set intentando hacer tomas con mis c\u00e1maras en muy poco tiempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology and photo editing tools are constantly evolving, can you tell us about the techniques and equipment you consider essential to your work?<\/strong>
Me encanta que existan tantas herramientas para crear im\u00e1genes, yo usualmente cargo muchas cosas y edito poco en post, casi siempre traigo mi celular, una c\u00e1mara digital, una de 35mm, una de super 8, y una de medio formato, y lentes fijos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many genres in photography, from portraits to nature photography. Do you have a favorite genre that you are most comfortable with or enjoy shooting? Why?<\/strong>
Generalmente lo que m\u00e1s hago es foto documental, de retrato, lifestyle y viajes, para mi es importante contar historias con mis im\u00e1genes y conectar con las personas a trav\u00e9s de ellas, me inspira mucho conocer nuevos lugares, explorar y tomar fotos o filmar todo lo que pueda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you share an interesting or unusual anecdote you experienced while taking photographs?<\/strong>
Para m\u00ed es muy interesante cuando saco alguna de mis c\u00e1maras y a las personas alrededor les llama la atenci\u00f3n verme utilizando c\u00e1maras de rollo, me han preguntado si a\u00fan funcionan, d\u00f3nde las consigo, si existen rollos y en d\u00f3nde los revelo, y por qu\u00e9 uso c\u00e1maras antiguas en lugar de digitales, o de repente me cuentan que tambi\u00e9n alguien les hered\u00f3 alguna c\u00e1mara parecida o recuerdan alguna que hubo en su familia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many photographers find inspiration in other visual artists or in everyday life. What are some of your sources of inspiration?<\/strong>
Definitivamente mi inspiraci\u00f3n n\u00famero uno es la CDMX, me emociona que siempre est\u00e1n pasando muchas cosas, que nunca termino de conocerla, de recorrerla, y que nunca termina de sorprenderme. Tambi\u00e9n veo muchas pelis y las repito varias varias veces, igual me gusta mucho leer e imaginarme c\u00f3mo contar\u00eda yo esas historias con fotos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography is a visual medium, but it often has a conceptual background as well. Have you worked on photographic projects that address specific themes or concepts? Can you share information about one of those projects?<\/strong>
S\u00ed, mi proyecto \u201cOne day you’ll be just a memory\u201d, va sobre autorretratos hechos con una c\u00e1mara pinhole en blanco y negro, directo en el papel. El concepto es la memoria y la certeza de que todo es ef\u00edmero, y al mismo tiempo habla de la a\u00f1oranza y el dolor de algo que hemos perdido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What inspires you when creating new images? Do you have any rituals or creative processes that you follow to find inspiration?<\/strong>
Mi inspiraci\u00f3n viene de muchas cosas: de sue\u00f1os, de recuerdos, de pel\u00edculas, de la m\u00fasica, de libros. Cuando no tengo mucho tiempo trato de recordar pelis, canciones o libros que me gustaron y si tengo m\u00e1s tiempo, intento leer y ver mucho cine. La verdad no tengo ning\u00fan ritual creativo, tal vez deber\u00eda, lo que s\u00ed, casi siempre cargo con mi c\u00e1mara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
