Tell us a little about yourself and how you got started in photography. What inspired you to start taking pictures?<\/strong>
Empec\u00e9 a tomar fotos en 2016, mi primo y mentor, el gran fot\u00f3grafo Adolfo Doring, me regal\u00f3 mi primera c\u00e1mara (Nikon FM2) y me alent\u00f3 a desarrollar mi ojo est\u00e9tico. \u00c9l me tomaba fotos y me hablaba de fotograf\u00eda mientras me serv\u00eda t\u00e9 verde y chocolate con almendras en su departamento en Brooklyn. Adolfo falleci\u00f3 y para m\u00ed tomar fotos es seguir conviviendo con \u00e9l.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone has a unique style, can you describe how you would define your style and what visual or conceptual elements characterize it?<\/strong>
Es dif\u00edcil describir el estilo propio, creo que es casi imposible, como saber a qu\u00e9 huele uno. Trabajo sobre todo con pel\u00edcula en blanco y negro, y con lentes de 50 y 35 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Todo mi camino con la fotograf\u00eda ha sido significativo, ha sido una manera para m\u00ed de salirme de m\u00ed misma y de interactuar con la belleza del mundo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been your most challenging photography project to date and why?<\/strong>
Armar mi primera exposici\u00f3n de foto, con la Galeria En Blanco en Cabo (Oct 2023) pensar en y construir el concepto y que hubiera una unidad en la obra. Los panaderos de Santa Maria la Ribera y yo nos despertamos de madrugada para hacer nuestra labor creativa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology and photo editing tools are constantly evolving, can you tell us about the techniques and equipment you consider essential to your work?<\/strong>
Soy muy an\u00e1loga y nada t\u00e9cnica. Tengo ciertos par\u00e1metros dentro de los cuales creo pero mi t\u00e9cnica es la intuici\u00f3n y la sensibilidad a la luz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many genres in photography, from portraits to nature photography. Do you have a favorite genre that you are most comfortable with or enjoy shooting? Why?<\/strong>
Me encanta hacer street photography, caminar la cuerda floja de qu\u00e9 tanto te acercas al sujeto o no, brincar sobre el momento para no perderlo, etc. Tambi\u00e9n los retratos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you share an interesting or unusual anecdote you experienced while taking photographs?<\/strong>
Un homeless en Paris pens\u00f3 que le estaba tomando una foto a \u00e9l y me atac\u00f3!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many photographers find inspiration in other visual artists or in everyday life. What are some of your sources of inspiration?<\/strong>
Adolfo Doring, Larry Towell, Saul Leiter, Graciela Iturbide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography is a visual medium, but it often has a conceptual background as well. Have you worked on photographic projects that address specific themes or concepts? Can you share information about one of those projects?<\/strong>
Justamente para mi exposici\u00f3n “Primeras Impresiones” me enfoqu\u00e9 en lo que fueron mis primeras impresiones del barrio de Santa Maria la Ribera. Trat\u00e9 que capturar la esencia del lugar y mi lugar en \u00e9l. Fuera de eso he visto que tengo elementos recurrentes en mi obra: la gente de espaldas, la gente comiendo helado, la infancia, y un par m\u00e1s. Son temas que han salido por s\u00ed solos. Con la fotograf\u00eda me interesa no controlar de m\u00e1s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What inspires you when creating new images? Do you have any rituals or creative processes that you follow to find inspiration?<\/strong>
Me encanta despertarme temprano a tomar fotos. Me inspira la luz y c\u00f3mo va cambiando a lo largo del d\u00eda y a lo largo del a\u00f1o. Me gusta volver a mirar la obra de mis fot\u00f3grafos favoritos y tratar de emularlos. Nada es original en la vida excepto cada uno de nosotros, entonces incluso cuando robas, si robas honestamente, se vuelve propio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For aspiring photographers who may be reading this interview, what is the most valuable piece of advice you have received in your career or would like to share with them?<\/strong>
