Tell us a little about yourself and how you got started in photography. What inspired you to start taking pictures?<\/strong>
Me inici\u00e9 en la fotograf\u00eda desde muy peque\u00f1o cuando mi abuela paterna me regal\u00f3 una toycam para mi cumplea\u00f1os. Creo que ten\u00eda alrededor de seis a\u00f1os y por ese entonces las c\u00e1maras de juguete que hab\u00eda eran de rollo, as\u00ed empec\u00e9 a tomar fotos buscando aquellos detalles en la vida cotidiana que me llamaban la atenci\u00f3n, adem\u00e1s de poder capturar mis memorias a trav\u00e9s de la fotograf\u00eda qu\u00edmica. La emoci\u00f3n de no poder ver mis fotos de manera instant\u00e1nea me llev\u00f3 a ser m\u00e1s curioso con el mundo que me rodeaba y capturar de distintas maneras aquellas situaciones que llamaban mi atenci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone has a unique style, can you describe how you would define your style and what visual or conceptual elements characterize it?<\/strong>
Puedo definir mi estilo en varios elementos: expresivo, delicado, muy t\u00e9cnico y atemporal. Los elementos visuales que suelen acompa\u00f1ar mi estilo son luces suaves, colores brillantes y saturados, armon\u00edas y contrastes de color sutiles, texturas y movimiento (congelado o motion blur).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography has the power to tell stories and convey emotions. Can you share an experience where one of your photographs has had a significant impact on people or yourself?<\/strong>
Creo que cada vez que alguien interact\u00faa con mis fotograf\u00edas es un reconocimiento de aquello que quiero expresar, un “yo tambi\u00e9n me siento as\u00ed” ya sea con el lenguaje visual o el lenguaje literario que acompa\u00f1a a la fotograf\u00eda. En lo personal mis fotograf\u00edas han tenido el impacto de permitir expresarme de una manera muy libre y espec\u00edfica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What has been your most challenging photography project to date and why?<\/strong>
Hasta el momento cuando tuve que generar la narrativa de un cuento muy conocido y muy largo en una serie de fotos muy concisa. El trabajo curatorial para seleccionar los pasajes m\u00e1s importantes dentro de la narrativa que quer\u00eda crear fue un reto para m\u00ed, que soy una persona que le gusta conservar hasta el m\u00e1s m\u00ednimo detalle. Al final obtuve una serie de diez fotos sobre The Wonderful Wizard of Oz que me dej\u00f3 muy satisfecho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology and photo editing tools are constantly evolving, can you tell us about the techniques and equipment you consider essential to your work?<\/strong>
El bocetaje ya sea en tinta y papel o de manera digital se ha vuelto indispensable a lo largo de los a\u00f1os para la creaci\u00f3n de mi trabajo. El collage, los recortes y el photobashing tambi\u00e9n se han vuelto maneras de poder llevar a la realidad ciertos proyectos. En cuanto a post, lo esencial para m\u00ed es Photoshop para edici\u00f3n y Lightroom para correcci\u00f3n de color y trabajar lotes de fotos al mismo tiempo, junto con una Wacom y para andar en movimiento un iPad y el Apple Pencil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many genres in photography, from portraits to nature photography. Do you have a favorite genre that you are most comfortable with or enjoy shooting? Why?<\/strong>
S\u00ed, mi g\u00e9nero favorito son los retratos, me encanta poder conectar con la persona retratada a trav\u00e9s de la fotograf\u00eda. En esos instantes se generan conexiones \u00fanicas que quiz\u00e1 de otra manera no se hubieran dado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you share an interesting or unusual anecdote you experienced while taking photographs?<\/strong>
Cuando estaba redescubriendo la fotografia nocturna a trav\u00e9s de las largas exposiciones mi cable disparador se atasc\u00f3 y jam\u00e1s cerr\u00f3 el obturador. En su momento cre\u00ed que mi c\u00e1mara se hab\u00eda descompuesto en el arrastre y proced\u00ed a terminarme el rollo ah\u00ed mismo. Hoy son de las fotos que m\u00e1s me intrigan visualmente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many photographers find inspiration in other visual artists or in everyday life. What are some of your sources of inspiration?<\/strong>
Mis fuentes de inspiraci\u00f3n vienen de distintos lugares siempre, \u00faltimamente podr\u00eda decirse que Samantha Cavet, PelleCass, Bruce Gilden, Ansel Adams, las letras de Gustavo Cerati y los escritos de Rulfo y Carlos Fuentes son mis principales fuentes de inspiraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Photography is a visual medium, but it often has a conceptual background as well. Have you worked on photographic projects that address specific themes or concepts? Can you share information about one of those projects?<\/strong>
Recientemente he estado trabajando en una manera de autorretratarme a trav\u00e9s de objetos. Creo que se puede conocer mucho mirando a trav\u00e9s de los objetos que posee una persona y he tratado de expresar qui\u00e9n soy yo a trav\u00e9s de los mismos en una serie de fotograf\u00edas en la que estoy trabajando en este momento, siento que es una manera nueva de auto-exploraci\u00f3n con la que no me hab\u00eda enfrentado, porque mi reflejo no necesariamente estar\u00e1 ah\u00ed, as\u00ed que es importante lograr un puente de comunicaci\u00f3n fuerte y efectiva con la audiencia para que puedan ver como me veo a trav\u00e9s de la naturaleza muerta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What inspires you when creating new images? Do you have any rituals or creative processes that you follow to find inspiration?<\/strong>
Leer y escribir me inspira mucho al momento de crear im\u00e1genes. No tengo un ritual per se pero siempre tengo un libro y mi libreta a la mano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
