La literatura del autor sur africano J.M. Coetzee es muchas cosas. Al enfrentarme a los siete cuentos morales del autor, enfrent\u00e9 tambi\u00e9n una dicotom\u00eda que termino llev\u00e1ndome a la exploraci\u00f3n de otras de sus obras, principalmente ‘Las vidas de los animales’. Me preguntaba en un inicio si ser\u00eda una escritura obviamente animalista por parte de Coetzee, pero es una idea que puede ser f\u00e1cilmente descartable al enfrentarse a otras piezas en las obras del autor. Mi primera ayuda fue un art\u00edculo del diario ‘El milenio’ donde a grandes voces proclamaban el libro como una oda de iron\u00eda hacia el animalismo. Esta segunda perspectiva, fue tan f\u00e1cilmente vana como la primera. El autor ofrec\u00eda una postura menos polarizada y m\u00e1s enfrentada hacia los conflictos de la raz\u00f3n. Con esto \u00faltimo lleg\u00f3 mi iluminaci\u00f3n. Comprend\u00ed entonces la obra del sur africano como una s\u00e1tira del racionalismo que eval\u00faa sus l\u00edmites y constantemente los contradice a trav\u00e9s de uno de los personajes literarios m\u00e1s interesantes de la contemporaneidad, Elizabeth Costello. Podr\u00eda elaborar m\u00e1s sobre el libro, pero ser\u00eda tambi\u00e9n ir en contrav\u00eda de aquello que, creo yo, intenta expresar el autor. M\u00e1s \u00fatil ser\u00eda recomendar el libro como una cruzada sobre la raz\u00f3n y lo establecido; ejercicio necesario e imprescindible a la hora de pensar o re-pensar<\/em> cualquier panorama perteneciente a lo pol\u00edtico y lo social.<\/p>\n
