You stay with him for a while to see if someone claims him or he himself is able to return home; nothing of the sort happens. You have to go back to work and you decide to leave with a guilt that crushes your chicken heart, but the puppy is already following you, he is a tender unprotected little boy who only seeks protection in this innocence-devouring world. You say \u201cfuck it, I'll take him home, what difference does it make how much it costs and what a hassle it will be\u201d.
