Which tools did you use for the creation of this piece?
Ceramic.
What was the creative process behind it?
Representing the everyday is a common theme in most of my works, and taking time to make very transient things, like food, more permanent. This egg is part of a series.
What feelings come to you when you look at it?
I think it’s very silly.
What do you like most about this piece and why?
I like the simplicity of it.
“I’m inspired by what we’re constantly surrounded by – food, packaging, accidental still life.”
What did you enjoy the most about the process?
Working with clay is very tactile and malleable.
What was the hardest thing for you?
Until this sculpture, I hadn’t found the right glaze to use in my works.
Where would you like to see it exhibited?
In the homes of people who enjoy it.
I am a multidisciplinary, self-taught artist working primarily in painting, sculpture, photography, and drawing. I use bold, vibrant colouring within my works, inspired by the subject matter and colour palettes of Pop artists such as Andy Warhol and David Hockney.
